Route 3 is a rugged mountain road located in northwest Kanto. Its western terminus is at Pewter City and its eastern terminus is at the western foot of Mt. Moon. The contour of the route is designed to be only a singular path from west to east, with ledges that lead down and curve around back to the western segment For its western half, Route 3 is a split-level route. Heading east from Pewter City, the player encounters a small clearing with some natural obstacles that create a fork in the road, forcing travel north or south, of which the south path curves east and leads to a group of rocky pits and a dead end. In order to progress, the player must turn north and then east along the northern half.

Looking around the rugged area, Mikona noticed some tall grass. He nodded to Ralts who went forward. Entering it, he began to look around until he saw a pink puffball coming his way.
"Jigglypuff!" It squeaked.
'A Jigglypuff...' He had seen a young lady use it at his mothers gym, with it's ability to put any Poke'mon to sleep with it's song. Suddenly, it lashed out with a Pound attack at Ralts. Dodging just in time, Ralts spoke with gusto. 'And it looks like it ain't friendly, either!'
Nodding, he proceeded to connect with Ralts using telepathy. His first wild pokemon battle had come up.

"Almost...there." I panted. That cave was a nightmare. I don't want to face another Pokemon anytime soon.
I looked up and saw a boy. A boy with chilly light blue hair and full auburn eyes, and a small, nearly fake smile.
"Hiya!" I said, excitedly. I haven't seen another person since that crazy Paras Lass back in Route 4.
"Hello..." he said, almost a whisper. He was very quiet, for some odd reason.
Suddenly, a swarm of Pokemon jumped out at us! Riolu jumped out of his Pokeball, ready to fight.
The boy had a cold, calculating look on his face. He threw a Pokeball into the air without a sound and out came a shiny Ralts. It seemed to be grinning like a prankster. They seemed to be ready for battle, without a single word uttered and cold, dead looks on their faces.
Still, the other Pokemon seemed ferocious and hostile!

"Th-thanks..." He said quietly. I couldn't tell if he was embarrassed or really shy. Then I remembered. I have no Pokemon to protect me right now...
"Uh...hey, Mikona. Sorry to bother you again but...Is it alright if we walk to Pewter City together? I don't think I can make it by myself, heh." I said, casual but ashamed.
Mikona turned his face away and quietly said, "...sure...". Mikona seems pretty shy, but he seems like a guy I can trust.
And the two of us left to Pewter City.

Rrrrr! Arcy Exclaimed as we raced through route three then we went into the little canyon. "Cmon Arcy lets go into that canyon with the space rocks I wanna explore them too." then we got down and then I heard my phone ring. "Hold it, Arcy!" I exclaimed as I jumped off and answered my phone then. "John-sama... Alright I'd Love to talk about the Future of Team Rocket." I said while petting arcy. "Yeah I'll be up there Quickly. Do you want me to fly or are you sending a helicopter to pick me up? I asked." [SFX: Click! Click] He usually hung up and never said good bye to Our Phone calls. I don't think he does it on purpose he just does I guess you could say. "well I'll just wait then he's probably sending a Helicopter." then I returned arcy. Then about ten minutes later I heard a helicopter come down and smiled as it landed and opened its doors for me then I got in quickly and the doors shut and it ascended up to the skies. [exit to Team Rocket Main Base]

Satoshi came walking down Route three heading towards mount moon. HE saw a man enter a helicopter so he thought he could catch a lift in it. He jumped in just before the doors closed and it took off. HE didn't know where it was going or who was in it but he knew he would be safer in helicopter than foot. Or is he?
