Satoko's JourneyThe sun shone brightly that morning. After three long days at sea, my big brother Fushidara and I finally arrive at Vermillion City where I'll start my very own journey. The brisk morning with the salty sea air felt just like home at Slateport City. I'm reminded again that I'm no longer at home. I'm out in the world, just like Fushi was 7 years ago.
The boat, SS Anne, docked at the Vermillion Port. "Ready to get going?" asked Fushidara. He was in his black cloak and his gray shirt. His black hair swayed in the wind.
"Sure, let's go!"
The two of us stepped off the boat and started walking. "Are you sure you'll be safe?" Fushi asked about the 70th time.
"For the last time, YES." I rolled my eyes. He's been worrying over my decision to go on this journey. It was my idea to go, so he shouldn't get so overprotective. I've been living 7 years without him so I'm perfectly capable of handling this myself. Still, he's probably acting like this after leaving me at home for so long. I guess we can't help it.
"Alright, I'll be leaving then. Good luck and be safe no matter what."
"Don't worry, Riolu's always here with me." I replied as I looked to my pokeball. Riolu, sitting inside the pokeball, nodded back confidently.
Fushidara threw a pokeball into the air and sent out his Flygon. Funny, I thought he was leaving his other pokemon in the PC. "I'll be at the Pokemon League, if you ever need me." He said.
"Wait, you're flying there?! Why did you even take the boat if you could fly?!" I shouted at him.
"I wanted to make sure you're safe for as long as I could. See ya!" and Fushi flew off. His overprotective behavior was starting to bug me. Still, probably won't see him for another few months now.
"Alright, let's go find the gym so we can try to get our first gym badge, Riolu!" and I ran off, eager to find the Vermilion City Gym.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
After a long run across the city, I can across a large building that said, "Vermillion City Gym". I was so excited until I read the notice in front.
"Out to get milk
The Gym Leader is not present right now. Please come again later."
Wait, out to get milk? What a lazy gym leader. Either way, this sucked. I decided to start in another city and gym. I remembered back long ago that the legendary trainer, Red, started his journey at the Pewter City Gym.
"Well, Riolu. I guess we'll start at Pewter City. Now how to get there..." I stared at a map nearby and looked at a cave on the map. 'Diglett's Cave'. Luckily, it leads right to Pewter City!
"Alright, Riolu! Onto Diglett's Cave!"
